Interesting; Ryan Sawyers has been quiet the past few days, apparently missed a Democratic forum, but I didn’t see THIS coming. With Sawyers’ withdrawal, that leaves John Suddarth, Vangie Williams and Edwin Santana as the remaining Democrats vying to take on Rep. Rob Wittman (R) in the general election.

Ryan Sawyers Suspends Congressional Campaign
Sawyers: “I want to say thank everyone who took an active role in volunteering on our progressive campaign. I want to thank all of the people who supported my candidacy; including the Democratic Committee’s and progressive activist groups who hosted candidate forums and shared meals with our team. I want to thank the people of Virginia’s 1st Congressional District for being so hospitable to my family and I during our long road trips. Finally, I want to thank my friends and family for being by my side during every step of this journey. Unfortunately, due to personal and professional reasons I have decided to suspend my campaign for Congress.”
