A gazillion news outlets have already reported the news (see The conspiracy theorists attacked him. He’s fighting back in court., Virginia man sues Infowars, others for ‘fake news’ after Charlottesville rally, InfoWars and The Gateway Pundit Slapped With Lawsuit for Spreading Charlottesville Conspiracy, Charlottesville car attack witness sues Alex Jones, Gateway Pundit over conspiracy theories, Alex Jones Is Finally Getting The Defamation Lawsuit He Deserves, etc, etc., etc.), so the only things I wanted to add were:
1) strong support for Tom Perriello’s former Chief of Staff Brennan Gilmore, who is a courageous man and a true hero; and
2) the full legal complaint (see below or click here), which runs 178 pages, including ten counts, eight Exhibits, and finally the “Prayer for Relief” (“An award of presumed and actual damages to compensate Mr. Gilmore for his reputational, emotional, and professional injuries, in an amount to be determined at trial; An award of damages to compensate Mr. Gilmore for his emotional distress, in an amount to be determined at trial; An award of punitive damages, in an amount to be determined at trial;” etc.) against InfoWars, Gateway Pundit, etc. The suit was filed earlier today in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, Charlottesville Division, by Georgetown Law’s Civil Rights Clinic (see their press release here) on behalf of Brennan Gilmore. Go git’m!
