CNN broke this story (“Corey Stewart praised southern secession in 2017 campaign appearance”) a few minutes ago, and in my mind it’s not much different than pro-Confederate rhetoric we’ve heard from Corey Stewart a million times. Still, it’s good to see the corporate media starting to get the word about who this guy really is, what he believes, etc. I’d also note that neo-Confederate Corey is STILL, to this day, supported by the Virginia GOP and the vast majority of its Republican elected officials. What does THAT tell you about the Virginia GOP? Right- nothing good!
Anyway, check out the video below, in which neo-Confederate Corey says that Virginia is “also the state of Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson, and J.E.B. Stuart…if the established order is wrong, we rebel. We did that in the Revolution, we did it in the Civil War, and we’re doing it today. We’re doing it today because they’re trying to rob us of everything that we hold dear: our history, our heritage, our culture.” Oh yeah, and make sure you do everything you can to help Sen. Tim Kaine demolish this guy on November 6. Thanks!
