See below for this highly revealing exchange between 2018 VA-06 Democratic nominee and environmental/anti-pipelines activist Jennifer Lewis and Gov. Ralph Northam (D for “Dominion”) a bit earlier today. Great job by Jennifer Lewis, and really lame – but typical – response by Northam. Here’s Jennifer Lewis’ description of what went down…

I attempted to speak to Governor Northam this morning about the pipeline. During our Congressional run we did a pipeline canvas where we went out door-to-door to talk with people along the proposed AC pipeline route. I knocked on the door of an older gentleman who recognized me for the last 4 years of my pipeline work, thanked me for all my anti- pipeline work and then proceeded to say how nice it was to have a young Republican woman running for congress. I corrected him that I was running as a Democrat, he looked puzzled and asked “how can you be running as a Democrat and be anti-pipeline when the pipeline is the project of the Democratic Party”. Thanks Ralph and Terry.

I couldn’t really hear what was said, so I asked Jennifer Lewis. Here’s her response:

I started off being polite and thanking him for calling me after I lost my election because my mom raised me right! 🙂 but then I asked if I could talk to him about the pipeline and that’s when his staffer quickly moved him away from me. As he walked away I begged him to do the right thing and told him that his stance in the pipeline is making a heart for Democrats in the 6th District.
