The following exchange is so Dr. Evil-style demented it’s almost beyond parody, but in short, Ken Cuccinelli has no heart and no honest bone in his body. Check it out:
CNN’s Erin Burnett: “Are you worried…that the image…of that 23-month child and her father, dead, is going to be like the image from Syria of the little boy on the beach, 2-year-old child, that this image ends up being what represents the Trump administration’s policies on the border?”
Cooch: “No, in fact just the opposite. The reason we have tragedies like that on the border is because those folks, that father didn’t want to wait to go through the asylum process in the legal fashion, so decided to cross the river, and not only died, but his daughter died tragically as well. Until we fix the attractions in our asylum system, people like that father and that child are going to continue to come through a dangerous trip…60% to two thirds of the people coming across our southern border are paying some of the most evil, vicious, vile people in the world, the drug cartels on the south side of the border, which are treating the border as essentially a toll booth. So let’s not kid ourselves about how dangerous a trip that our laws as they stand now are attracting these people into. And that tragedy will only end when Congress fixes these loopholes.”
As the top comment on the Washington Post article about this exchange puts it: “This Cucinnelli character appears frequently on CNN; he’s a no-talent, vile, misogynist, racist GOP hack. Figures he’d get a job in the dung heap that is the trump administration.” Also, here’s the second-highest-rated comment: “Cuccinelli has to be one of the lowest forms of human life there is. Just another Republican sycophant lacking any empathy for those not born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Clearly he hasn’t fully evolved. Talk about elitist. Republicans wrote the book on it.”
