Alfonso Lopez (D-HD49); Del. Elizabeth Guzman (D-HD31); Sen. Adam Ebbin (D-SD30); and DNC Chair Tom Perez. According to Chair Perez:

“I come to you with confidence and gratitude because you helped us get our mojo back in 2017…and we’re going to continue it in 2019…We got 42 days…until the most important election for us…because having the House, having the Senate and having the Governor’s Mansion is the key to passing common-sense gun violence reduction. We can’t do it unless we do that. You know all the other things that have been bottled up because we’ve fallen just short. But you made so much progress last year, the summit of the mountain is in sight. We’re going to get up there, we’re going to get up there together. I’m coming back again and again and again and however long it takes to make sure you help. Because I want to make sure you know we have your back, we’ll always have your back, and we’ll have your back because you have led and you’ve left with your values.”

Del. Marcus Simon said “we cannot get things like passing the ERA, we can’t get anti-discrimination or housing or employment laws, we can’t get common sense come violence prevention, we can’t get politicians out of the way and out of the relationship between a woman and their doctors without the majority in the House of Delegates and in the state Senate.”

Del. Alfonso Lopez said, “What we’re going to do in just six weeks time is we’re going to tell the world that what’s happening across the Potomac is not okay…You can’t stop, you can’t stop. We have six weeks to take the majority back – this will be the first progressive Democratic majority in Virginia history.”

Del. Elizabeth Guzman said: “I will start by telling you that with a majority, it is time the working families deserve a living wage…We’re gonna pass an Equal Rights Amendment…We will fight to keep our communities safe, because we know that thoughts and prayers are not enough and we need votes and laws…”

Sen. Adam Ebbin said: “My birthday is five days after the election…At the top of my wish list is a Democratic Senate, but a Democratic Senate alone means nothing without a Democratic House.”
