From the Jennifer Woofter for Delegate (D-HD22) campaign:
“But Where is Kathy Byron?” Ad Asks The Question on Every 22nd District Voter’s Mind
LYNCHBURG, VA — Jennifer Woofter released a campaign ad on social media today titled “But Where is Kathy Byron?” displaying her opponent’s general unavailability to constituents. Woofter made several calls to her opponent in an attempt to set up a nonpartisan debate where the public could ask each candidate questions side-by-side. Her opponent failed to respond. The paid campaign ad will reach both liberal and conservative audiences through social media.
“Showing up to explain your actions and goals while making room for people to speak their minds is at the core of how representation works,” Jennifer Woofter said. “It’s why I was proactive in asking for an interview on conservative radio and why I’ll continue to reach across the aisle. I’m campaigning in every part of the district and talking to people of all beliefs because that’s what it takes to do this job.”
Both candidates are scheduled to attend the Jefferson’s Assembly Tuesday, but the event has a $25 admission fee, limited seating, and no question and answer period. Woofter attended the Lynchburg Voters League Forum on August 15 and earned the group’s endorsement. She also attended the Smith Mountain Lake Candidates Forum October 7 and the Liberty University Nursing Students Healthcare Listening Session Oct. 8. Her opponent did not attend these events and has so far failed to answer the League of Women Voters questionnaire. The LWV generally holds public election forums, although one is not currently scheduled this cycle.
