Speaker-designee Eileen Filler-Corn Announces Key Decisions
Richmond, Va.– Speaker-designee Eileen Filler-Corn today announced her nomination of Suzette Denslow as the next Clerk of the House and Keeper of the Rolls of the Commonwealth and her selection of Anne Oman as Director of the House Appropriations Committee Staff. The Clerk must be elected to the position by the members of the House of Delegates on the first day of the 2020 legislative session.

Nominee for Clerk of the House and Keeper of the Rolls of the Commonwealth
Suzette Denslow will stand for election for the Clerk of the House and Keeper of the Rolls of the Commonwealth. She currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Ralph Northam and has extensive experience in Virginia government, having served in the Administrations of Governors Doug Wilder, Terry McAuliffe, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine. She also worked for the General Assembly’s Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission and served as Chief of Staff to Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones.
Speaker-designee Filler-Corn said, “Suzette Denslow has dedicated her career to serving the people of the Commonwealth. I am confident that Denslow will maintain the tradition of well-ordered, efficient and effective management of the House of Delegates.”

Anne Oman
Director of the House Appropriations Committee Staff
Anne Oman will serve as the Director of the House Appropriations Committee staff, bringing with her a quarter century of experience in Virginia government, including 17 years as an analyst in House Appropriations. Prior to that, she worked as a principal research analyst for the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission where she specialized in Virginia transportation issues. Oman also held positions with the Virginia Department of Transportation, including the Divisions of Policy Analysis and Financial Planning and Debt Management.
Speaker-designee Filler-Corn said, “Anne Oman has the experience and understanding of Virginia’s complex budget, as well as a significant knowledge of the Commonwealth’s budget development process, to immediately start working with Delegate Torian to ensure our budget work is transparent and responsible.”
Del. Luke Torian said, “I have worked with Anne for ten years in my role as delegate and six years on the Appropriations Committee and fully trust her judgment and ability to lead the committee staff on behalf of all Virginians.”
“Outgoing Director Robert Vaughn provided 37 years of public service to the Commonwealth of Virginia, and I thank him for his leadership as the Staff Director for House Appropriations,” said Speaker-designee Filler-Corn.
