Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02) Endorses Joe Biden for President

A bit earlier this afternoon, Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA02) – along with two other “swing-district Democrats” (Conor Lamb of PA17 and Chrissy Houlihan of PA6)- announced her endorsement of former VP Joe Biden for President. See her statement below. Luria joins Rep. Donald McEachin (D-VA04), who endorsed Biden back in May 2019. As far as I’m aware, the only other presidential candidate receiving an endorsement from a Virginia member of Congress is Pete Buttigieg, who has been endorsed by Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA08). It will be very interesting to see if Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner endorse anyone, as well as Reps. Bobby Scott (D-VA03), Abigail Spanberger (D-VA07), Jennifer Wexton (D-VA10) and Gerry Connolly (D-VA11) before Virginia’s 2020 Democratic presidential primary on March 3.
