Congresswoman Elaine Luria Launches Virginia Veterans for Biden
Yesterday, Congresswoman Elaine Luria, a 20-year Navy veteran, hosted a virtual event to kick off Virginia Veterans for Biden. She was joined by Ret. Vice Admiral Kevin Green.
Along with discussing Vice President Biden’s national security credentials, Luria and Green also discussed how Biden would be able to restore America’s global standing — and how he would work to ensure we meet our sacred duty to protecting servicemembers, veterans, and military families.
See below for key quotes from the discussion:
“Joe Biden is very enthusiastic about continuing to improve the care that the veterans receive through the VA, reducing the backlog in disability claims, improving VA facilities, many of which are aging and require repair, improving the MISSION Act and the ability for veterans to receive care throughout the community, fighting the veteran suicide crisis, and many of the other challenges that we’re facing now for veterans…and the population of women in the miliary and women who have served continues to grow, so that’s another area within the VA where it’s very important to continue to provide adequate resources for the health care of today’s veterans as well as continuing to care for those who have served in the past. It’s a privilege to be here today to be here in support of Joe Biden as our next president,” said Congresswoman Elaine Luria.
“I personally support Joe Biden because he’s a proven leader of integrity. He knows, as we all do as veterans, that there’s no substitute for honesty, for decency, for judgment, and for courage. His decades of national leadership in the U.S. Senate, and as Vice President, have given him the strength, the knowledge, the deep understanding, and the global relationships that makes him the best candidate for president. He’s going to bring like-minded leaders, a vision and ability into government to help him restore America’s spirit of cooperative community of national strength — of global credibility — and will reduce the conflict that imperils our future. Joe listens. He cares. He takes responsibility. He’s been strengthened by his life experiences. He’s confident but modest and strong yet caring. Joe Biden is the leader that America needs right now,” said Ret. Vice Admiral Kevin Green.
