BREAKING: Virginia State Senator Bryce Reeves (R) Tests Positive for COVID-19, Demonstrating Why Virginia House Dems Were Right to Insist On Meeting Virtually

Looks like Virginia House Democrats were 100% right to go “virtual” for the Special Session and not to endanger their members. In contrast, the State Senate for whatever crazy reason decided to meet in person, in the middle of a pandemic. Even worse, at least two of the Republicans – Sen. Bryce Reeves (see photo of Reeves a few weeks ago, between maskless Nick Freitas and maskless Amanda Chase), who has now come down with COVID19, and Sen. Amanda Chase, who was literally sitting in a glass box when she wasn’t wandering around maskless – were out and about, talking to reporters and their colleagues, without masks. Of course, that’s standard operating procedure for many Virginia Republicans, which is wildly irresponsible, but also all the more reason to NOT meet in person during a pandemic, especially when it’s technologically feasible to meet via Zoom, etc! Is this really *that* difficult to figure out? Anyway, let’s hope Reeves recovers, and that he learns from this and acts responsibly going forward.
