From VA05 Democratic nominee Dr. Cameron Webb’s campaign:
Webb Campaign Releases First TV Commercial for General Election
Charlottesville, VA — Dr. Cameron Webb, Democratic nominee for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, released his campaign’s first TV ad of the general election today, focusing on his background in healthcare and the need for leaders who will stand up to partisan gridlock and corporate interests to get things done.
The ad draws on the importance of family and faith in Webb’s upbringing in central Virginia and how that background shaped him throughout his career—including as a health policy advisor in both the Obama and Trump White Houses. It will air across VA-05 starting today, Tuesday August 25, and will run on broadcast, cable, and digital platforms.
The ad will help Webb reach voters all across VA-05, a vital next step given the most recent polling has shown the race to be in a statistical tie.
See below for a full transcript of the ad:
“Growing up here in Virginia, family came first. Our faith kept us centered and we worked hard for everything we got.
“My mom worked in public schools and my dad at the DEA. They valued service and expected a lot from their six kids.
“As doctors, my wife and I teach those same values to our children. So I was honored to serve my country as an advisor in the White House.
“But working for both Presidents Obama and Trump, I watched how toxic, partisan politics can be; standing in the way of getting things done.
“I’m running because we have to do better. Like stopping big insurance from gaming our system, protecting Medicare, and lowering the cost of medication, and guaranteeing the free market gives us choices in our care.
“I’ll work with Democrats, Republicans, and the President when they’re right. And stand up to any party leader when they’re wrong. I’m Cameron Webb and that’s why I approve this message.”
