TODAY: Third Scott Taylor Staffer Scheduled in Court on Election Fraud Charges

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA –  Today, the third Scott Taylor campaign staffer charged with election fraud is scheduled to appear in Virginia Beach circuit court this morning.

Three staffers have been indicted for election fraud in relation to Scott Taylor’s campaign’s 2018 attempt to get a third party candidate, Shaun Brown on the ballot.

In March of this year, the first Taylor campaign staffer pleaded guilty after being indicted on similar charges while a second staffer did the same just last month

“Scott Taylor and his campaign need to answer for the out and out fraud committed by their campaign,” said Campaign Manager Veronica Ingham. “This ongoing election fraud scandal demonstrates that he is unfit to represent the people of the second district in Congress.”

Scott Taylor threatened legal action against the Luria campaign for bringing attention to the investigation into his campaign. To offer clarity on the issue, the special prosecutor made a rare statement contradicting Scott Taylor’s claims that he was cleared of any wrongdoing saying the entire campaign is under investigation including Taylor. Assistant Commonwealth Attorney John Beamer said: “He’s part of the campaign and the whole campaign is under investigation.”

Congresswoman Elaine Luria represents Virginia’s Second Congressional District, which includes all of Accomack and Northampton Counties, the cities of Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, as well as portions of Norfolk City, Hampton, and York and James City Counties. Congresswoman Luria serves on the House Armed Services Committee where she is Vice-Chair of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee and on the House Veterans Affairs Committee where she is the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee. In 2018, Elaine Luria flipped VA-02 from a Republican incumbent and is a current Frontline incumbent.
