Friday (1/29) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +4,238 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 497,912), +128 Hospitalizations (to 21,241), +71 Deaths (to 6,379)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (1/29), in Virginia we’re at 497,912 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 21,241 hospitalizations and 6,379 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 4,238 (+0.9%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 5,121 (+1.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 128 (+0.6%), which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 127 (+0.6%).  Deaths are reported +71, compared to +80 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,180,202 (up 33,217 from yesterday).
