Monday (1/25) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +6,172 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 478,619), +52 Hospitalizations (to 20,764), +3 Deaths (to 6,081)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (1/25), in Virginia we’re at 478,619 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 20,764 hospitalizations and 6,081 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 6,172 (+1.3%) in the latest statistics, which is a faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,792 (+0.8%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 52 (+0.3%), which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 58 (+0.3%).  Deaths are reported 3, compared to -1 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,056,432 (up 49,392 from yesterday).
