So, at this point (2/12), in Virginia we’re at 544,209 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 22,718 hospitalizations and 6,966 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 3,109 (+0.6%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,899 (+0.7%) . As for hospitalizations, they went up 103 (+0.5%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 145 (+0.7%). Deaths are reported +8, compared to +26 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,553,955 (up 35,220 from yesterday).
