So, at this point (2/8), in Virginia we’re at 530,825 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 22,167 hospitalizations and 6,820 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 1,700 (+0.3%) in the latest statistics, which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 2,949 (+0.6%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 65 (+0.3%), which is a slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 67 (+0.3%). Deaths are reported +42, compared to +5 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,449,974 (up 12,201 from yesterday).
