Saturday (2/27) Virginia Data on COVID-19 Finds +1,675 Confirmed/Probable Cases (to 574,314), +113 Hospitalizations (to 24,091), +185 Deaths (to 8,382)

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (2/27), in Virginia we’re at 574,314 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 24,091 hospitalizations and 8,382 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went tp 1,675 (+0.3%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 1,657 (+0.3%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 113 (+0.5%), which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 107 (+0.5%).  Deaths are reported +185, compared to +234 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 5,879,000 (up 24,347 from yesterday).

P.S. Also note, as VDH writes, “VDH is now processing 2021 death certificates related to the post-holiday surge of COVID-19 cases. As a result, a larger number of deaths is expected to be added by report date.”
