Friday (5/21) Virginia Data on COVID-19: Hospitalizations, 10-Day New COVID Cases Hover Near Lowest Points Since Early in Pandemic

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (5/21), in Virginia we’re at 672,312 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 29,441 hospitalizations and 11,074 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was 396 (+0.1%) in the latest statistics, the same rate of increase as yesterday’s +591 (+0.1%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 47 (+0.2%), the same rate of increase as yesterday’s +55 (+0.2%).  Deaths are reported +6 compared to +20 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,325,788 (up 14,747 from yesterday).
