See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (7/26) in Virginia we’re at 690,183 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 31,153 hospitalizations and 11,506 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was +1,883 in the latest statistics [NOTE: VDH isn’t updating on the weekends anymore, for whatever reasons…frustrating for keeping an accurate count of the statistics, and also premature given that the pandemic isn’t over!], compared to +750 (+0.11%) on Friday. As for hospitalizations, they went up 86 compared to +19 (+0.06%) on Friday. Deaths are reported +6 compared to +7 on Friday. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,926,618 (up 31,962 from Friday).
