In the ad, Youngkin echoes Trump’s tone and message, directly borrowing from Trump’s divisive right-wing playbook. Glenn Youngkin is not an original act, Virginians have seen this movie before, and they’re not going to let Glenn Youngkin do to the Commonwealth what Donald Trump did to the country.
Like Donald Trump, Glenn Youngkin has focused his entire candidacy on divisive conspiracy theories, promoting Trump’s lies, and trying to hide his out-of-touch views from Virginians. Youngkin has a record of embracing Donald Trump, saying that the failed former president “represents so much of why [he’s] running.”. Glenn Youngkin has even doubled-down on pushing Trump’s election conspiracies, including headlining an election integrity rally and suggesting that Trump could be reinstated as president. Given how close they are, it’s no wonder Donald Trump has endorsed Youngkin three separate times. While Youngkin runs on Trumpism, Terry has released plans to invest in Virginia’s workforce and rebuild a stronger post-COVID economy.
