MCLEAN, VA – Terry for Virginia today released a new TV ad, “Good Jobs,” highlighting Terry McAuliffe’s bipartisan record of bringing good-paying jobs to Virginia and his plans to build a stronger economy that invests in education and workers and to keep Virginia open and welcoming to all. Terry understands the value of hard work and has plans to lift up Virginia’s workers and small businesses so that every worker in the Commonwealth is treated with dignity and respect.
As the 72nd Governor of Virginia, Terry focused on building a 21st century economy that created good-paying jobs and expanded economic opportunity for all Virginians. He worked with Democrats and Republicans to create 200,000 jobs and increase personal income 14%. Terry also reduced unemployment in every city and county in Virginia, and most rural communities saw unemployment cut by nearly 50% under his leadership. Even Glenn Youngkin praised Virginia’s economy under Terry’s leadership.
Terry delivered real results for Virginia families as governor before, and he will do it again. As Virginia’s next governor, Terry will work to create hundreds of thousands of good-paying jobs and a thriving Virginia economy that lifts up everyone. He will raise the minimum wage to $15/hour by 2024, and make sure all Virginians have access to paid sick, family and medical leave. Terry will also make a $2 billion investment in Virginia’s education system, expand STEM-H education and build a workforce of the future with job training and development so that all Virginians have the skills they need to be successful in the jobs of tomorrow.
