Another day, another mass shooting in America, this time in Highland Park, Illinois, a small town of 30,000 people located 25 miles north of Chicago. As Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA11) points out, “The gun lobby and its Republican puppets have robbed Americans of our sense of safety in just about every place imaginable,” including, as he lists: “Schools. Malls. Offices. Churches. Mosques. Synagogues. Nightclubs. Concerts. Grocery stores. Movie theaters. Fourth of July parades.”

And this time at a parade where children, families, and a community were celebrating our country and the Fourth of July.
