Video: Sen. Tim Kaine Says He’s “very glad to vote for the [Inflation Reduction Act]”; Is “very confident we’re going to get to a good place hopefully by the end of the weekend”

Tim Kaine talking about the Manchin-Schumer “Inflation Reduction Act”‘s numerous benefits for Virginia, including “bring[ing] down prescription drug costs”; “extend[ing] premium support for people who buy health care on the exchanges”; “dramatically accelerat[ing] our path to a cleaner energy economy”; “fully funding the black lung benefits program”; “fighting inflation and helping our economy expand.” The bottom line, according to Sen. Kaine, is that the “overall package is great,” that he’s “very glad to vote for this bill,” and that he’s “very confident we’re going to get to a good place hopefully by the end of the weekend and put this bill into the house and ultimately on President Biden’s desk.” Sen. Kaine said the main  potential problem is “poison-pill amendments” (on immigration or whatever) and that Democrats need to vote against any of those.
