Rep. Abigail Spanberger

Politicians need to be more accountable

To the people we represent.

It’s our patriotic duty.

So I do a lot of listening…

and I work with anyone to get…

things done…

Just like I did when I served in CIA…

And in law enforcement…

I know people are hurting…

That’s why we passed a law…

To lower energy bills and prescription drug costs…

And why I pushed through tax cuts for small businesses…

I’m Abigail Spanberger…

And I approve this message…

 For me, country comes first.

“My promise to the Virginians I serve is that I will always hold myself accountable to their concerns – and work to respond to their priorities with commonsense solutions  in Congress,” said Spanberger. “Right now, Virginians are feeling the impacts of high costs. That’s why I’ve voted to stand up to big pharmaceutical companies, support our small businesses, and lower costs for families and seniors. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with Americans across the political spectrum to put the mission and our country first — and I’m proud to bring that same approach to my work on behalf of Virginia’s Seventh District.”

BACKGROUND

Spanberger — Vice-Chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus —  has a record of building broad coalitions  in Congress to deliver results for Virginia. In the last year, Spanberger has helped lead negotiations with Republicans and Democrats in Congress to pass the bipartisan infrastructure law, the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act, and the bipartisan Honoring our PACT Act.

Spanberger has long stood up to big pharmaceutical companies and worked to give Medicare the power to negotiate for lower drug prices, including through her vote for the Inflation Reduction Act in August.

Earlier this year, Spanberger was once again ranked as the most bipartisan Member of Congress from Virginia and among the top five most bipartisan Members of the U.S. House overall.

Last week, Spanberger was endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
