Congresswoman Luria’s Busy Week: Won the Second VA-02 Debate, Participated in a Reagan Institute Panel on the Navy, Endorsed By National Security Leaders and The Washington Post
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Former small business owner and 20-year Navy veteran Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA-02) won her second debate of the cycle, participated in a bipartisan Ronald Reagan Institute and Foundation to discuss strengthening the Navy, and earned the endorsement of National Security Leaders for America and The Washington Post this week.
Congresswoman Luria began the week by winning the second VA-02 debate in Smithfield on Monday. Jen Kiggans continued her election denialism and refused to answer whether or not Joe Biden won a free and fair election in 2020. After the debate, she ran from the stage to avoid questions from local press and once again would not answer a local reporter’s question about whether Joe Biden won the 2020 election.
On Wednesday, Congresswoman Luria participated in a Ronald Reagan Institute and Foundation panel discussion with former Reagan Secretary of the Navy John Lehman and Republican Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi. The discussion focused on growing and strengthening the Navy through bipartisanship in Congress.
This week, Congresswoman Luria announced the release of her 13th, 14th, and 15th television ads of the 2022 cycle.
“Good Catch,” highlights the Congresswoman’s record of working across the aisle to deliver for Coastal Virginia. “Unfit” highlights Kiggans’ refusal to answer if Joe Biden was fairly elected president after she ran away from several reporters asking the question at the first VA-02 debate. “What’s Best” highlights efforts by Kiggans’ backers in Congress to restrict the rights of women in America by banning abortion nationwide and voting against legislation that would protect the fundamental right to use birth control in America.
Congresswoman Luria also received an endorsement from National Security Leaders for America (NSL4A) this week, a bipartisan organization dedicated to supporting strong national security and democracy. NSL4A is comprised of more than 500 former senior leaders from the military and national security-related government agencies, as well as elected officials at the state and local levels
On Saturday, The Washington Post endorsed Congresswoman Elaine Luria highlighting her bipartisan record of working across the aisle to deliver for Coastal Virginia and slamming Kiggans who “pivoted from the center to the extremes as she eyed a congressional race.”
