See below for video from Monday evening’s Henrico Democratic Committee meeting, of speeches by three of the Democratic candidates (Del. Dawn Adams, Del. Lamont Bagby, Alexsis Rodgers) – and possibly the only Democratic candidates (we’ll see) – running for the SD09 seat that’s almost certainly going to be vacated by State Senator Jennifer McClellan after she wins the special election for Congress (VA04) on February 21. In the following videos, the three candidates introduce themselves, then respond to questions from Henrico Dems on campaign contributions from Dominion Energy and other big donors; constituent services; young people; and small businesses. You can definitely see the differences between the candidates in terms of approach, style, substance, etc. in their answers, so definitely check out the videos.

By the way, it sounds like this election’s going to happen quickly after February 21, with the primary and special election likely taking place in a VERY compressed time frame. So definitely stay tuned for more details as they are made available on the exact timing and arrangements for selecting a Democratic nominee and holding the special election in this deep-blue district in Richmond/Henrico/Charles City County/Hanover district.
