Youngkin Awards $266,000 to *TOTALLY NOT FIRED* Superintendent

RICHMOND, VA – Ask him three different ways and he’ll refuse to tell you the truth: no matter how many times he’s questioned, Governor Youngkin refuses to say whether or not he fired Jillian Balow who left her post as superintendent after a Youngkin administration error that has caused a MASSIVE $201 million budgetary shortfall for Virginia’s K-12 public schools.

“Despite his willingness to deceive Virginia’s parents, teachers, and students, Youngkin’s obfuscation and lies were no match for a public records request,” said Liam Watson, Press Secretary for the Democratic Party of Virginia.

According to records obtained by the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Jillian Balow will receive $266,213 in taxpayer dollars as part of a deal reached with the Youngkin administration, wherein she would resign from her post as superintendent. The payoff also included a provision precluding Balow from speaking publicly about the terms of her settlement with the Youngkin administration.

“The Youngkin administration is the only place on earth where you can lose $201 million for K-12 schools and walk away with a quarter of a million bucks in taxpayer dollars,” said Watson.
