“I stand before you as…the only Jewish woman to serve as Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates in its over-400-year history. I stand before you as a proud American Jewish woman. I stand before you as a supporter of Israel…I stand before you with a broken heart…for the state of Israel…for the people of Israel…for the Jewish people…for all of the precious lives lost at the hands of terrorists…for the families, friends of the hostages…with no word or knowledge of their loved-ones whereabouts…

Attending rallies and gatherings and services this week, including being with you all today, definitely provides some comfort – comfort in knowing that we are not alone…that the Jewish people are resilient…that Israel is strong…that we will not let the terrorists win…that we as Americans continue to stand for democracy, for freedom…that collectively we stand with the people of Israel as they defend themselves…that we will continue to stand in support of Israel…We stand against hate, we stand against evil…against the terrorist organization of Hamas…And every day since the terrorist attack, we stand together in prayer, in providing strength to the victims, family members, friends, and hostages  still in harm’s way.

We often say, ‘Never Again’. But on October 7, 2023, ‘Never Again’ came again….Am Yisrael Chai! Am Yisrael Chai! Am Yisrael Chai! [The people of Israel live!]”
