From the DLCC:
BREAKING: DLCC Announces Virginia Legislature Endorsements From President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris
Democrats are united in recognizing the importance of these elections.
WASHINGTON – Today, ahead of the critical Virginia legislative elections just a few days away, the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) and our partners in Virginia are proud to announce President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ endorsements of Democratic candidates running in some of this year’s most competitive districts.
On November 7th, these candidates and the outcomes of their campaigns will determine the legislative majorities in both the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates and with those majorities, the future of fundamental freedoms and economic opportunity for millions of Americans. As the official party committee focused on state legislatures, the DLCC has been on the ground in Virginia since January, preparing for a competitive election season. Now, with election day fast approaching and a massive get-out-the-vote operation underway, the President and Vice President’s new endorsements show the Democratic Party is fully united in this effort and ready to finish strong.
With President Biden and Vice President Harris’ endorsements and the energy we’re seeing on the ground, one thing is for certain: Democrats have the momentum heading into this competitive election.
“With so much on the line this year, we can’t afford to let this important election pass us by. So much hangs in the balance – not just for Virginia but for the direction of this country,” said President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. “While our party continues to show steady leadership in Washington, these candidates are stepping up and campaigning in their communities for a brighter future for Virginia. Whether it means protecting a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions, defending voting rights, or standing up for common sense gun safety laws, electing these candidates on November 7th will protect our fundamental freedoms and will keep Virginia and our country moving forward.”
“We’ve known all year that Virginia would be extremely competitive and we are all hands on deck to finish strong and win the state legislature majorities that Virginians deserve,” said interim DLCC President Heather Williams. “We are grateful for President Biden and Vice President Harris’ support and for their leadership in bringing attention to the stakes of the elections this year. Democrats must continue to campaign and build power in the states to ensure lasting progress for this country. These endorsements make clear that the leaders of our party know how critical it is to support these candidates in our final push toward victory. It’s time for every Virginia Democrat to sprint through the finish line and get out the vote.”

The DLCC is the official Democratic Party committee dedicated to winning America’s state legislatures. Last year, the DLCC defied the odds by not losing any state legislative majorities, flipping four key chambers, and creating four new Democratic trifectas – the best midterm year for the party in power since at least 1934. State legislatures are the building blocks of our democracy and pass the policies that have the biggest impact on Americans’ day-to-day lives.
