The latest Facebook post by former VA Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R/Trump supporter) definitely seemed to me to be worth sharing, given that it highlights “dysfunction” on the VA GOP’s 2025 statewide ticket. In this case, Bolling highlights “a “‘Super Saturday’ rally in Virginia Beach for Winsome Sears and Jason Miyares, but no John Reid” – which Bolling chalks up to the fact that John Reid is gay.
As for John Reid being “a smart, articulate and principled conservative…probably more so than his running mates,” I’m not really sure what Bolling means by that, as both Sears and Miyares are also VERY conservative (aka, far-right), while Reid is pretty much as right-wing as you can get. And no, Reid would NOT “make a much better Lieutenant Governor than his opponent,” nor is Ghazala Hashmi “dangerously liberal.” That’s just completely ridiculous and wrong. But I *do* agree with Bolling on this:
“It is ultimately up to Winsome Sears to bring unity to the GOP ticket. If she refuses to do so she will prove that she is not qualified to serve as Governor.
If you can’t unify your own ticket, how can you unify a state? You’ll lose. You’ll lose big, and you’ll deserve to lose.”
Good luck with that…
GOP DYSFUNCTION CONTINUES
I know I’ve been harping on this, but the lack of inclusion and unity in the GOP statewide ticket is alarming.
Here’s another example. A “Super Saturday” rally in Virginia Beach for Winsome Sears and Jason Miyares, but no John Reid.
And before you ask, I checked with John Reid and confirmed that he was NOT invited to participate in this event.
Look, John Reid is gay, and he’s made no secret about it. I realize that a lot of people may not be comfortable with that, but get over it.
John Reid is a smart, articulate and principled conservative. Truth be told, probably more so than his running mates.
And he’d make a much better Lieutenant Governor than his opponent, Ghazala Hashmi, who is dangerously liberal.
It is ultimately up to Winsome Sears to bring unity to the GOP ticket. If she refuses to do so she will prove that she is not qualified to serve as Governor.
