RICHMOND, Va. — The Spanberger for Governor campaign today released a new TV and digital ad calling out Winsome Earle-Sears for her praise of Trump’s tax law that will drive up costs for Virginia families.
The ad, titled “The Pain” — which focuses on Sears’ support for the Republican bill signed into law last month by President Trump — comes as Virginia is forecasted to have virtually no job growth in 2026 because of the White House’s attacks on Virginia’s economy. Despite knowing the devastating impacts this legislation would have on Virginia families — including the 350,000 Virginians covered by Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and Medicare who would lose their healthcare — Sears has repeatedly praised the GOP law, claiming it “does so many great things.” The ad will air in the Norfolk and Richmond media markets starting today.
While Sears continues to back the Trump Administration’s disastrous economic policies that are causing costs to skyrocket and killing Virginia jobs, Spanberger is talking every day about her plans to lower costs for Virginia families, protect Virginia jobs, and stand up against threats to Virginians’ healthcare coverage. Earlier this year, Spanberger rolled out her plan to lower costs for Virginians across the board — her Affordable Virginia Plan, which focuses on lowering energy, healthcare, and housing costs for Virginia families.
