Video: Sen. Mark Warner Says Trump Worse than Nixon; What’s “Particularly Frightening” Is the Firing of Two US Attorneys from Virginia, Both Selected by Trump’s White House, Because They Refused to Break the Law

“We all know the world keeps getting crazier every day. Yesterday, President Trump flip flopped to support Ukraine – that’s good news – at the same time going after all our allies the day before. The thing that is particularly frightening me right now is that we have not one but two US attorneys  who President Trump’s White House selected, from Virginia, who appears both have been fired or pushed out because they refused to break the law, they refused to indict individuals that they didn’t think there was a legal case for.

I’ve spent a lot of time on this video concerned about politicization of the IC, pushing back on Trump’s economic policies. But the idea that folks with perfectly great Republican bona fides have the courage to stand up and say, no, I’m not going to indict someone who’s a political enemy of Trump just because the president wants it, and that cost them their jobs. We’re now in an area that even those who remember Richard Nixon wouldn’t do as much in public. So stand up, step up, fight back.”
