Walkinshaw Slams Trump – Vought Shutdown Tactics 

Fairfax, VA — Congressman James R. Walkinshaw (D-VA), a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, slammed Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought’s memo threatening to terminate additional federal employees. Walkinshaw released the following statement: 

“This is absolute bluster and bs. The Trump Administration has already done everything, legal and illegal, to fire federal workers whose role or loyalty is insufficiently MAGA. Let me be clear: A shutdown gives the Administration no additional legal authority to fire or RIF federal employees. Trump and Vought should end their childish tantrums and foot stomping, and sit down to negotiate a bipartisan agreement that meets the needs of the American people and prevents the looming health care crisis they created.”
