Friday (7/16) Virginia Data on COVID-19: Still Relatively Low, But…Highest New 1-Day COVID Cases (+445) Since 5/25; Highest 10-Day New COVID Cases (+2,860) Since 5/31

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (7/16) in Virginia we’re at 684,499 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 30,936 hospitalizations and 11,477 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases was 445 (+0.07%) in the latest statistics, compared to yesterday’s 440 (+0.06%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 19 (+0.06%), compared to yesterday’s +17 (+0.06%).  Deaths are reported +6 compared to +4 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 7,829,358 (up 10,145 from yesterday).
