See below for a press release from the Virgil Thornton for Delegate campaign (HD-86). As the Thornton campaign says in their email with the press release:
“A Hampton judge has issued a protective order against Delegate Cordoza following an incident of armed harassment and intimidation toward a campaign supporter. The statement includes details of the incident and the campaign’s response emphasizing volunteer safety and accountability in public service.”
On a related note, see Video: New Ad by HD86 VA Dem Candidate Virgil Thornton Says Incumbent Del. A.C. Cordoza (R) “has a long history of predatory behavior,” “was even caught running a sexting ring…that ‘targeted teens’” (Also: “Court records show Cordoza was charged with pulling a gun on a retired state trooper.”) And let’s all hope that Virgil Thornton wins the election on November 4 in this Hampton/York/Poquoson district won by Kamala Harris by 1.1 points and by Tim Kaine by 3.5 points last November.

Virgil Thornton Campaign Statement on Protective Order
Against Delegate A.C. Cordoza Following Armed Harassment of Campaign Supporter
HAMPTON, VA — Following repeated incidents of harassment and intimidation by Delegate A.C. Cordoza toward campaign supporters, the Virgil Thornton campaign (HD-86) released the following statement after a Hampton judge issued a protective
order against the delegate earlier today:
“A protective order was issued against Delegate A.C. Cordoza after he harassed a supporter of the Virgil Thornton campaign yesterday at the Hampton City registrar’s office while armed with a gun — just four days after harassing Virgil’s niece. This ongoing pattern of intimidation is dangerous, unacceptable, and makes clear that Delegate Cordoza is unfit to hold public office. Sadly, this is not the first time he’s been on the wrong side of the law. In fact, his most recent TV ad even featured a wanted fugitive. We’re grateful to law enforcement for their quick response and professionalism in deescalating the situation. The safety of our volunteers and staff is our top priority, and we’ve again instructed them to keep their distance from the delegate for their own
protection.”
