To put it mildly, this is WILDLY unacceptable behavior. As Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA08)’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Aaron Fritschner explains:
Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey’s Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she ‘almost ran them over’ until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.
And as Rep. Don Beyer (D-VA08) says:
My office has been in contact with the woman who recorded this video of an ICE agent drawing a gun on her. She is a Northern Virginia native and a mother. While I am relieved that she is safe, the habitual dishonesty and dangerous and unjustified escalation seen in this video matches what we have seen from ICE agents across the country. This kind of misconduct and threat of force against members of our communities cannot be tolerated. I will be demanding answers and consequences.
Also, it should be needless to say, but out-of-control goons like these need to be: a) fired IMMEDIATELY; b) charged with crimes and charged, if warranted; c) punished to the full extent of the law if found guilty. The bottom line is that if this insanity and illegality by armed government agents keeps happening, and there are no consequences for doing so, this country’s simply not going to make it much longer…
