Great to see Aneesh Chopra “all-in” for Monique O’Grady for Arlington County School Board! (Note: For why I support Monique O’Grady, click here. Thanks.)

My wife, Rohini, and I are proud parents of two children enrolled in Arlington Public Schools, with one more entering in 2020. We have taken particular interest in our School Board election this year on account of a proposed APS policy change that would adversely impact access to Arlington’s award-winning Science Focus elementary school that has done more than virtually any other school we know in overcoming income disparities while delivering incredible results (read more on my blog post here).

After evaluating all of the candidates, we are “all-in” in our support for Monique O’Grady for Arlington County School Board, and would ask that you join us by voting TODAY or SATURDAY at the Arlington Democrats Caucus:

Thursday, May 11th 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Drew Model School; or
Saturday, May 13th 11:00am – 7:00pm at Washington-Lee High School.
As President Obama’s former Chief Technology Officer, I know that Monique is a data-driven, collaborative School Board candidate who will work tirelessly to ensure we are addressing the key drivers of our capacity crisis with creative solutions that represent all Arlington families.
Monique brings some fresh perspective, through her many years of advocacy, service, and commitment to Arlington Public Schools. As a parent of two children at Arlington Science Focus School, I have seen first hand the role that diversity plays in the classroom. Today, my daughter attended a field trip to the National Museum of American History. Her group of 7 classmates represented 6 different countries, all enjoying a morning celebrating American history. Monique knows the importance of diversity across our schools, as it provides our children with the ability to be more successful in a multi-cultural work environment.
For almost two decades, Monique has worked hard for APS behind the scenes, including as co-chair of the successful 2016 School Bond Campaign. She was appointed by the School Board to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee and to committees addressing siting of new schools and adjusting boundaries. She also served on the Arlington Arts Commission and has worked with the Rosslyn BID, bringing an understanding of both schools and County issues.
To find out more about her vision for our schools, please visit her website, www.MoniqueOGrady.org or follow her on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube at @Monique4APS.
Thanks,

Aneesh
