A standing-room only crowd gathered in the Arlington Government Building today at 4pm, to watch Arlington Clerk of the Court, Paul Ferguson, give the oath of office to Parisa Dehghani-Tafti, swearing her in as the next Commonwealth’s Attorney for Arlington County and the City of Falls Church.
Among those attending were: Judges O’Brien, Lopez, Rucker, Varoutsos, and Kendrick; Delegates Mark Levine and Patrick Hope; County Board members Katie Cristol, Libby Garvey and Matt DeFerranti; Treasurer Carla de la Pava; Commissioner of the Revenue Ingrid Morroy; School Board members Monique O’Grady and Nancy Van Doren; Sheriff Beth Arthur; and Chief Public Defender Brad Haywood.
In addition to swearing in Parisa, the clerk also signed in her new Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney, Cari Steele; Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorneys Liz Tuomey, Mike Chick, Lisa Wilson; and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys Frank Webb, Abhi Mehta, Amelia Nemitz, Melanie Wright, Brandon Sloane, Katy Milane, Lindsay Brooker, and Josh Katcher.
