As every member of the Virginia House of Delegates knows, or certainly *should* know, they are supposed to observe proper decorum on the floor, including referring to their fellow delegates respectfully, and of course to the Speaker as “Mr. Speaker” or, in the case of Eileen Filler-Corn – the historic, first female Speaker in Virginia history – as “Madam Speaker.” Apparently, that’s too much to ask of right-wingnut Del. Charles Poindexter (R-HD9), who repeatedly refers in the following video (and apparently, has been doing this all session) refers to Filler-Corn as “Madam Chair.”
In response, Del. Joseph Lindsey (D-HD90) stands up and asks whether Poindexter is suffering from “senility,” is being disrespectful, is “slow on the uptake” or what. Now wait a minute, Del. Lindsey, can’t Poindexter be all three of those? LOL Seriously, though, gotta love how House Minority Leader Todd Gilbert is right on top of what Lindsey said, but *not* Poindexter’s blatant disrespect for Virginia’s first female Speaker. Priorities, priorities, I guess…and also yet another example of why women vote overwhelmingly Democratic?
