NOTE: There seems to be declining interest in this daily update, so I’m cutting it down somewhat and might reduce the # of times per week as well. No, the pandemic is not even CLOSE to being over, but at this point a lot of people seem to have simply lost interest and moved on…for better or (most probably) worse.

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (6/25), in Virginia we’re at 59,946 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 5,995 hospitalizations and 1,675 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 432 (+0.7%) in the latest statistics, which is a lower rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 520 (+0.9%), and the lowest rate of increase since the pandemic began. The number of TOTAL test results was 654,500 (up 18,404 from 636,096 yesterday).  As for hospitalizations, they went up 40 (+0.7%), from 5,955 to 5,995, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 42 (0.7%). Deaths are reported up 14 (from 1,661 to 1,675), compared to an increase of 16 (from 1,645 to 1,661) the previous day.
