Monday (12/14) Virginia Data on COVID-19: Hospitalizations, 10-Day New Cases (+37,769) Hit Record Highs

See below for graphics of the newly posted COVID-19 numbers by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association. So, at this point (12/14), in Virginia we’re at 285,149 total reported – confirmed plus probable – cases (note that actual cases, as well as deaths, could be higher, maybe even a LOT higher, based on stories like this one in the NY Times), 16,073 hospitalizations and 4,414 deaths from COVID-19. The number of reported cases went up 3,240 (+1.2%) in the latest statistics, which is the same rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 3,294 (+1.2%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 59 (+0.4%), which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 47 (+0.3%).  Deaths are reported +3, compared to +2 the previous day. The number of PCR-ONLY test results is currently at 3,729,013 (up 26,266 from yesterday).
