The number of reported cases went up 2,861 (+0.6%) in the latest statistics, which is a slightly faster rate of increase than the day before, when reported cases were up 2,558 (+0.5%). As for hospitalizations, they went up 35 (+0.2%), which is a slightly slower rate of increase than the day before, when hospitalizations were up 72 (+0.3%). P.S. According to a note by VDH, “Surveillance system upgrades occurring on Saturday, January 30, 2021, will affect the data on the COVID-19 Cases & Testing Dashboards on January 31 and February 1, 2021. A decrease in the number of cases and tests reported on January 31, and an increase in the number of cases and tests reported on February 1 is anticipated because of these upgrades.”
