A flood watch is in effect for parts of Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the following counties in Virginia: ALBEMARLE, ARLINGTON/FALLS CHURCH/ALEXANDRIA, CULPEPER, FAIRFAX, GREENE, KING, GEORGE, MADISON, NELSON, ORANGE, PRINCE WILLIAM/MANASSAS/MANASSAS PARK, SOUTHERN FAUQUIER, SPOTSYLVANIA, STAFFORD.

There’s also a flash flood watch (see map after the “flip”) today in ALLEGHANY, AMHERST, APPOMATTOX, BEDFORD, BLAND, BOTETOURT, BUCKINGHAM, CAMPBELL, CARROLL, CRAIG, FLOYD, FRANKLIN,  GILES, GRAYSON, HENRY, MONTGOMERY, PATRICK, PULASKI, ROANOKE, ROCKBRIDGE, SMYTH, TAZEWELL, WYTHE. I probably missed a few as well, check your local National Weather Service link for more.

Be careful out there. Oh, and don’t for a minute think that all this crazy weather – not to mention the hottest year on record – here and around the world has anything whatsoever to do with global warming. Perish the thought, and enjoy the weather! Heh.
