The Moran for Congress campaign today announced the endorsement of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Political Action Committee (VFW PAC). The VFW PAC cited Congressman Jim Moran’s strong leadership in support of veterans, national security & defense, and military personnel issues.
More on the endorsement below.
“I am proud to receive the endorsement of the VFW PAC and thank the committee for their hard work and advocacy on behalf of its 2.1 million members of the VFW, its auxiliaries and their families,” said Congressman Moran. “I look forward to working with the VFW PAC in the days, months and years to come as we continue to honor our nation’s veterans, who have sacrificed so much to protect America’s freedom and liberties at home and abroad.”
“The VFW PAC Board of Directors is pleased to endorse Congressman Jim Moran in his bid for re-election because he has fought so hard on the issues that matter most to our nation’s veterans. Jim has fought for world-class medical facilities at Ft. Belvoir and Bethesda and will continue to make access to high-quality medical care for all veterans a top priority,” said Salvatore J. Capirchio, Director of the VFW PAC. The VFW PAC was incorporated in 1979, and is the nation’s only major Veteran’s Service Organization (VSO) PAC.
The endorsement comes on the heels of recent announcements of support from such organizations as the Sierra Club, the National Educational Association, the Virginia AFL-CIO, the National Association of Social Workers, as well as numerous local and state officials throughout the 8th Congressional District.
Additionally, to be clear – I am on the Moran for Congress campaign.
