ABC News Expose on US Navy Veterans Association Scam

The Virginia angle on this story? As we explain on our “What’s that Stench?” page, Ken Cuccinelli took $55,000 from this disgraced, phony veterans organization – the “U.S. Navy Veterans Association” – in apparent exchange for his promise to get the Virginia Office of Consumer Affairs (which had “notified Thompson’s group that it no longer qualified for an exemption from state registration requirements”) off the group’s back. Can we say “pay-to-play?” Yeah, bad stuff.

Meanwhile, as the ABC News story explains, authorities are currently hunting for the scam veterans’ association leader, Bobby Thompson so they can question him and prosecute. Back here in Virginia, Ken Cuccinelli had just better hope they don’t find Thompson – or that, if they do, he doesn’t start squealing.
