Democratic Economic Policies Working; Republicans Threaten to Derail Recovery

0

To summarize the story up ’til now: after inheriting yet another mess created largely by Republicans – George W. Bush, Tom DeLay, Dennis Hastert, etc. – Democratic economic policies are slowly (although accelerating) but surely digging us out of the proverbial ditch and back to prosperity. Yet just as the economic recovery is gathering momentum, Republicans threaten to derail it through their counterproductive, destructive, “cut-your-nose-to-spite-your-face,” lose-the-future economic policies. For instance, as a new non-partisan analysis makes clear, the Republicans’ pillage-and-burn “H.R. 1 will cut 700,000 jobs through 2012, with Virginia set to lose more than 19,500 jobs.”  That’s right, there’s your choice America: gain nearly 200,000 jobs per month — millions through 2012 — or lose 700,000 jobs during that same time thanks to Eric Can’tor’s and John BONEr’s crazy Teapublican policies. Tough choice, huh?

UPDATE: Ezra Klein points out that “there are some dark clouds” due to the “House GOP” and its “spending bill that economist Mark Zandi says will cost 700,000 jobs.” If Zandi’s right, that would be “high enough to wipe out this jobs report and a few more like it.” Great job, Republican’ts!!!
