It’s Easter Sunday, and who does ABC News bring on its Sunday show to talk about “God and Government” but Franklin Graham. So what’s wrong with Franklin Graham, you ask? Oh, nothing much, except for…
*He’s apparently a “birther”, stating this morning that Barack Obama “‘has some issues to deal with’ when it comes to proving he is indeed an American.” For good measure, Graham adds that the “more you listen to [Donald Trump, who has made ‘birtherism’ a centerpiece of his campaign for president], the more you say to yourself…maybe the guy’s right.” Well, alrighty then!
*Graham also has repeatedly smeared Islam, a religion practiced by nearly one-fourth the world’s population, as “a very evil and wicked religion” adding for good measure his belief that “[t]rue Islam cannot be practiced in this country” because in America, “You can’t beat your wife. You cannot murder your children if you think they’ve committed adultery or something like that…” Apparently, in Graham’s enlightened view, beating your wife and murdering your children are central elements to being a Muslim.
*Continuing on with the bigotry and insanity, Graham claims that Barack Obama was “born a Muslim,” and that the “seed of Islam is passed through the father.”
*On and on it goes, with Graham claiming that the Muslim Brotherhood “has burrowed into the Obama administration and is shaping US foreign policy.”
The Muslim Brotherhood is very strong and active in our country. It’s infiltrated every level of our government. Right now we have many of these people that are advising the US military and State Department on how to respond in the Middle East, and it’s like asking a fox, like a farmer asking a fox, “How do I protect my henhouse from foxes?” We’ve brought in Muslims to tell us how to make policy toward Muslim countries. And many of these people we’ve brought in, I’m afraid, are under the Muslim Brotherhood.
Wow, that’s a lot of hateful craziness for Easter Sunday morning. The question is, why would ABC choose to help spread that around America – and the world, for that matter – by giving Franklin Graham a megaphone on this holy, peaceful day?
P.S. I could have done without Al Sharpton as well. Is he the only representative from the progressive wing of American Christianity that ABC News could find to come on today? Seriously?
UPDATE: Whoops, forgot one! Franklin Graham also claims that building an Islamic cultural center several blocks from the World Trade Center site would mean that Muslims “will claim now that the World Trade Center property … is Islamic land.” Seriously, he said that. Cuckoo! Cuckoo!
