Babur Lateef, the Democratic candidate running for chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, has a video on YouTube calling out current Republican Chairman Corey A. Stewart.
The video, which Stewart called “cute,” seeks to lay the blame for underwater mortgages, high unemployment, low teacher salaries, higher class sizes and lower home prices at Stewart’s feet.
Michael McLaughlin, Lateef’s campaign manager, said it’s entirely appropriate to bring up facts as they relate to economics, employment, taxes and education in the county.
“Corey Stewart’s asking to be reelected this year based on what he’s been doing over the last five years,” McLaughlin said. “I think the facts are clear that in the last five years, Prince William County families have been hurting.”
“We think that instead of whining to Richmond insiders about why it’s not his fault, Corey Stewart needs to get to work helping families in Prince William,” he said.
This is going to be a fun campaign. Go Dr. Lateef!
