The Adam Ebbin for State Senate campaign announced today that Ebbin had received the endorsement of Delegate Charniele Herring (D – Alexandria).
“Northern Virginians need a trusted, proven progressive leader in the State Senate. Adam Ebbin is that leader,” said Herring, whose House district includes precincts also in the 30th Senate District. “In the Senate, Adam will continue to work to address our local transit needs. He will continue to fight for equality under the law for all Virginians. He will continue to stand up for a woman’s right to choose. In short, he’ll continue to be in the Senate what he’s been in the House: our proven progressive champion.“
During the last legislative session, Herring and Ebbin worked together on legislation to address traffic concerns caused by the BRAC building on Seminary Road. Herring is the chair of the Reproductive Health Caucus, the former president of the West End Business Association and has lived in Northern Virginia for 30 years.
“Charniele Herring is a respected leader in the House of Delegates. I look forward to continuing to work alongside her to address pressing regional priorities, including expanding funds for transit and protecting our public schools,” said Ebbin.
Delegate Herring joins a long list of House members and Northern Virginia leaders supporting Ebbin’s candidacy, including former Congresswoman Leslie Byrne, Delegates Mark Sickles, Scott Surovell, Bob Brink, Patrick Hope, Vivian Watts, Eileen Filler-Corn, Mark Keam, David Bulova and Ken Plum, as well as Senator Chap Petersen.
Ebbin has also been endorsed by the Virginia League of Conservation Voters, the Fairfax County and Arlington Professional Firefighters & Paramedic Associations, Virginia New Majority, the Virginia Partisans Gay & Lesbian Democratic Club, Equality Virginia, Mothers & Others PAC and the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund.
